Diversity and Culture – Lessons Learned from Delivering a Complex Project in Thailand

  • July 20, 2022 - 6:00pm
  • Novotel Hotel 19/9 Sukhumvit 20 Alley, Khwaeng Khlong Toei, Klongton Bangkok 10110

Can project managers still rely on the adage of “When in Rome do as Romans?’

The unprecedented change caused by rapidly expanding marketplace and globalisation is making project management become more complex with multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural project teams that operate across borders, across different times zone and in multiple languages.

Major projects today, more than ever, require project managers who can effectively lead in cross-cultural environments.  Project managers must develop the ability to adapt to new cultural contexts quickly, comfortably, and successfully and move from simple cultural awareness to more sophisticated understanding and appreciation of cultural differences.

In this lecture, our speaker will share his experience and lessons learned while working on a complex project in Thailand and how culture and diversity had impacted on the project.

The aim of this lecture is to encourage project management professionals to adopt a different mindset that understands and accepts cultural diversity because it is equally important as the triple constraints as it can be a reason for a project to succeed or fail.
