How to Build a Solid Business Case to Win Key Stakeholders (By Jean-Martial Carpena)

  • January 16, 2019 - 6:00pm
  • Novotel Hotel Ploenchit 566 Ploenchit Road Lumpini, Bangkok 10330, Thailand.

Case Study: PTTEPI Myanmar – Zawtika Offshore Field – Operations and Maintenance From a Vendor perspective, winning projects from external clients is part of the company objectives to grow and thrive in their business. Before a project is won and attributed to a Project Manager, several internal management steps must be achieved. Prior to the initiation of the project, the most crucial responsibility of the business development team is to seek the formal consent of the organization decision makers. Building a solid business case is decisive in achieving this approval. Also, a well-built business case will increase key stakeholders buy-in and ensure the team to achieve the project objectives. To build a solid business case, core technical knowledge is indeed required from the business acquisition team, while the business manager will emphasize his / her knowledge base in managing stakeholders, communication and procurement, ultimately bridging the company business interests with its organizational capabilities and need for economic growth.
