Strategic Transformation – a Roadmap for Self-Disruption

  • March 18, 2020 - 6:00pm
  • Online using Zoom

Technological advances and combinatorial new business models are disrupting every industry. However, transformation initiatives have a very poor track record in many organizations no matter what size.

We will explore how a project manager can better initiate, plan and lead a project that leads to outcomes that are aligned with the major changes desired.

Our speaker will share experiences having lived through three start-ups, and some newly released practical tools and critical success factors to guide a strategic transformation program.

Note – this is an online session. We’ll send out a link individually to all registrants of the session 1 hour before the meeting commences. Everyone who registers and attends will also be entitled to receive PDUs.

William’s passion in life has been the study of strategy & execution and this demands a systemic understanding of both portfolio and project management planning in various organizational environments and cultures. He is the former program director and senior instructor for the Stanford University Advanced Project Management Program, an executive education program. He was also the CEO of a management consulting and corporate training business that implemented the tools and practices taught in the Stanford Program. He has designed, implemented and trained comprehensive project management practices in companies like Cisco, Qualcomm, McKesson, Wipro and IBM touching well over 5,000 project managers. He has now lived in Thailand for 7 years continuing to share his passion in consulting, facilitating and training for companies in AustralAsia.

Some of his innovative thinking around the Strategy Execution Framework that he co-created is described in his book entitled, Executing Your Strategy: How to Break it Down & Get it Done, published by the Harvard Business School Press. He has an MBA in e-Commerce from Capella University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California-Santa Barbara. His certifications include Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM), PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) and New Product Development Professional (NPDP).
