William’s passion in life has been the study of strategy & execution and this demands a systemic understanding of both portfolio and project management planning in various organizational environments and cultures. He is the former program director and senior instructor for the Stanford University Advanced Project Management Program, an executive education program. He was also the CEO of a management consulting and corporate training business that implemented the tools and practices taught in the Stanford Program. He has designed, implemented and trained comprehensive project management practices in companies like Cisco, Qualcomm, McKesson, Wipro and IBM touching well over 5,000 project managers. He has now lived in Thailand for 7 years continuing to share his passion in consulting, facilitating and training for companies in AustralAsia.
Some of his innovative thinking around the Strategy Execution Framework that he co-created is described in his book entitled, Executing Your Strategy: How to Break it Down & Get it Done, published by the Harvard Business School Press. He has an MBA in e-Commerce from Capella University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California-Santa Barbara. His certifications include Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM), PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) and New Product Development Professional (NPDP).
