Case Studies in Transition Management

Many companies have resorted to transferring risk by outsourcing non-core competencies to outside vendors. This process is not straightforward. Rather, it can be viewed as an art and requires extensive strategic planning and a proper project management transition plan.

This presentation will focus on Strategic Outsourcing Transition and transformation. Case studies and lessons learned will also be presented to give the audience a better perspective on the challenges involved in such process.

Dr. Surapong Prompattanapakdee has over 17 years of experience in various industries across many multinational organizations in Thailand including Societe Generale Bank, SG Asia Credit, Chase Manhattan, IBM, JPMorgan Chase and Securities. He held different positions at these firms ranging from government relations, Network and Telecommunication Mergers and Acquisitions, Contract Management, IT Management, Business Outsourcing and Vendor Management. He also has extensive experience in IT transition management and outsourcing.

Dr. Surapong is currently Account General Manager at GTECH Corporation specializing in gaming technologies. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Information Technology (Assumption University), a Masters of Computing in Information Technology (University of Western Sydney), and a Bachelor of Commerce in Computer Information Systems (University of Western Sydney). Dr. Surapong is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
