Building an effective and transparent contract management system to support a project should be considered as a core value and a must. Utilizing a strict contract management process protects organizations from disputes and also provides administrative comfort. It also helps shield and protect organizations and can also be used as a tool to evaluate the project’s overall performance and profitability.  A question remains: “To what extent should the responsible parties comprehend contract conditions before any commitment is made?”

Burkay Yigitbasi is a project management professional with over 7 years of experience in construction projects, mainly in cement and oil and gas field. He currently works as contract manager in Pipeline & Utilities Works Business Unit at Italian-Thai Development (ITD). His primary duties are coordinating contractual matters and relationships with clients & consultants, overseeing pre and post contract matters and dealing with change order disputes. Prior to joining ITD, he worked on various projects in Thailand, USA, S. Arabia, and Turkey. He is PMP certified and holds a Master Degree in Project Management and Post-Graduate Certificate in Construction Management from Northeastern University.
