Driving in a Waterfall Path with Agile to Initiate Recovery

Project failure comes in many shapes or forms. Potential reasons could be from acts of nature, unplanned events by team members, giving unrealistic deadlines by the project sponsor, or underestimated activities and timelines. Regardless of the causes of project setback, the Project Manager is responsible for assessment and to ensure the project is on track towards a successful delivery.

Many Project Managers use traditional plan driven project management methodologies to plan and manage their projects. When facing a failed project, there are many approaches to implement project recovery plans which require a large amount of work to document and implement change management. In today’s business environment, rapid recovery is required to bring failed projects back on track.  Some of these options are to review and adapt other frameworks that can facilitate and accelerate recovery.

The speaker will review a troubled project and use a case scenario.  He will also discuss how and when we need to put a recovery plan into action?
