Lean Six Sigma and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in the Insurance Industry

Operational efficiency is delivered through process improvement without IT at first but then applying automation for further optimization. Digitalized initiatives could improve efficiency in the mid-term. End-to-End Process Re-engineering, Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Robotic Process Automation(RPA) are key levers to enable the delivery of company strategic objectives. Various industries implement such levers to generate cost savings and improve process efficiency including companies in the Insurance and Financial Services segment. During this lecture, our speaker will share his experience specific to Insurance-related services starting with the insurance value chain to explain details related to insurance operations. Then he will explain LSS and Process Improvement as applicable to the insurance sector. The speaker will also share information and lessons learned related to the Operation Efficiency Framework and the use of RPA as applicable to projects derived from his experience.

Nopparat Khaohirun, a Gen “Y” Thai citizen project manager, has been working with Italian Life and Non-Life insurance
companies with many branches in Europe, America and APEC (Generali Thailand) since 2006. He started working as a Medical Underwriter and expanded his knowledge and practices to areas such as Medical Services Management, Hospital Network and Systems Implementation.

He’s worked both as a project manager and a business analyst and delivered many IT insurance-related projects under his company to many customers of various sizes (small to large). He played a key role in strategic planning for his organization while focusing on 6 major areas: Life Operations, Group Operations, P&C Claims, Operational Governance, IT, and Business Project Office. His current work involves Business Process Management as the RPA Leader to implement Thailand RPA strategies. Nopparat holds a Bachelor Degree of Sciences (Medical Technology) from Chiang Mai University, Master of Science (Management Technology) from NIDA. He also holds other professional certifications including: PMP, CSSBB and FLMI.
