PMOs in Thailand

A Project Management Office (PMO) is a project management best practice introduced to organizations to ensure project achievement.  In Thailandthough many PMOs have been instituted in organizations for many years, they are still struggling to add value.  Services PMOs provide do not meet project stakeholders’ expectations and PMOs face barriers in instituting them.

With courtesy of Graduate School of Management and Innovation, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), ‘The State of Project Management Office in Thailand’ research was undertaken last year with project stakeholders who had been working with a PMO in various industries to solidify the aspects of PMO in Thailand.

This presentation discussed research results and insights into the PMO characteristics and the performed functions. In addition, the expectations of stakeholders, PMO related problems and success criteria were also highlighted as a guide to improve project management structure in Thailand.
