Project Management in the Restaurant and Catering Industry

We’ve heard you say it many times. Why is it that Project Management is always stressed by Information Technology People working in the Information Technology Industry? Why is always IT people that “preach” Project Management and its application across departments within different organizations? Why isn’t it industrial people, or petro-chemical people, or maybe even Trading people. Through a true story, our speaker during this lecture will discuss the application of Project Management Skills as acquired from an Information Technology industry and thereafter applied in the Restaurant and Catering industry. He’ll emphasize the steps taken to transition his acquired skill-set in Project Management from IT to Catering and he’ll share lessons learned across his adventurous journey. Laurent Dupont at PMI Thailand ChapterLaurent Dupont has more than 25 years of Management experience in Asia and Europe. He has created and managed multi-cultural teams for International Leading companies and Start-ups. From Project Director to IT Director, he has built skills in team recruitment and management, infrastructure, software development and integration, IT architecture, off shoring, project management, IT strategy and governance. He is now a consultant in extreme Project Management. He has a Master of Civil Engineering and a Master of Business combined with PMP, ITIL and COBIT certifications.
