Managing Small (SME) vs Large Projects: Communication, Risks and Cultural Differences

The norm of managing a large project always consist of complex techniques, countless meetings and piles of documents. But managing a small project or SME could have a totally different vibe. Project managers of small projects are not required to prepare cumbersome documents to push the project forward; rather a strong need for personal touch is the key to making the project a success. While managing small or large scale projects should rationally require the same skill-set, the difference radiates in most of the project activities – from a simple status update to the very critical acceptance test. In this session, the speaker will focus on the key differences, success factors and pitfalls that could be adapted to make your project more effective.

Mr. Amornsukh Sachdeva has almost 15 years of experience in selling, managing, implementing and supporting ERP projects for various industries. He worked for some top firms in the ERP business including – SAP, QAD and Exact Software. After gaining experiences from these companies, he finally joined hands with highly experienced Deloitte consultant and Navision Project Manager to start consulting business as One Soft Solution (Thailand) as Authorized Value added reseller of Exact Software for the Thailand market.

He has implemented projects for over 30 clients ranging from small to large. And some of clients includes famous fashion retail giant, well-known toy manufacturer, aviation and automotive parts. Mr. Amornsukh completed his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Assumption University and a Masters Degree in Computer Science. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Information Technology at Siam University.
